Orangeburg County, South Carolina was Settled by Germans

In 1735, a group of German, Swiss, and Dutch settlers came to Orangeburg. The group included 200 Palatines, who eventually removed Ebenezer, Georgia, during 1759 and 1760. A large graveyard at Midway, Georgia, contains all of the names. To view the names, click on the county links below.
